Amanda Seafoods: Minimizes maintenance with lubrication-free bearings
"The trial with NGI bearing houses has made us aware that there is a hygienic alternative to the bearing houses we usually use. It has also made us aware that it doesn't have to be expensive to optimize the hygienic design. We will definitely consider using these bearing houses for future projects".

The challenge
Amanda Seafoods is always looking for new, innovative solutions to optimize their production. Hygiene, reliability and quality are always prioritized. In this case, Amanda Seafoods experienced challenges with bearing houses mounted in a position that made preventive maintenance, such as lubricating, more difficult. Furthermore, the bearing house design was an open and exposed design that they wanted to avoid.
The solution
NGI sent bearing house samples to make Amanda Seafoods aware of a more hygienic and maintenance free solution. The bearing house was installed in cooperation between NGI and Amanda Seafoods. The goal was to find a completely sealed, maintenance free and hygienic bearing house solution.
The effect
The bearing house had been running for three months before disassembling to conclude that the bearing inside was completely dry and in perfect condition. Amanda Seafoods had not encountered any problems with the bearing. They are aware that the NGI bearing houses will be a good solution for future projects.
