NGI has grown to become the global market leader for hygienic components due to our continuously high involvement in our customers’ businesses and needs.
The combination of thorough advice and extensive industry knowledge enable us to offer a comprehensive and innovative product range of all types of adjustable levelling systems and hygienic levelling components.
Our deep insight into the various sectors within the machine manufacturing and food processing industries makes us a value-adding partner with focus on consulting, training and knowledge sharing.
NGI is the only company in the world being able to offer 3-A, EHEDG and USDA certified hygienic levelling feet. In addition to this highly specialized product portfolio NGI also offers a complete range of standard levelling feet such as plastic feet, solid feet and fully-threaded feet. In 2020, we will broaden our product range and apply our comprehensive knowledge and skillset within hygienic design to manufacturing of high-quality moving parts. Moving parts such as hygienic bearing houses and castors, both designed in accordance with EHEDG, USDA and 3-A design principles.
Our dialogue with technicians, engineers and purchasers at machine builders as well as brand owners worldwide enables us to take responsibility for improving our customers’ competitiveness.
Today, NGI is represented in more than 50 countries.
NGI was founded back in 1972, as Nordjysk Gummi Industri by manufacturer and engineer Knud Nygaard. The company manufactured rubber and metal compounds - especially in stainless steel, which was used in the food and pharmaceutical industry, among other things.
Due to increasing sales on the export market, Nordjysk Gummi Industri changed its name to NGI. In 1990, NGI moves to the current locations Virkelyst 5 in Nørresundby to get more space.
Today, NGI is a highly specialized niche company that supplies hygienic components such as levelling feet, castors, bearing housings, etc. to machine builders and brand owners around the world.
In 2008 a generational handover was completed, so the North Jutland growth company today is being managed by Jan Nygaard, the son of the founder.
In 2018 the Habasit Group acquired the majority stake in NGI – being part of Habasit’s global network NGI will be able to expand its market coverage and product portfolio at an accelerated rate.
In 2018 in accordance to our vision, NGI Hygienic levelling system became NGI Hygienic Components, symbolizing the expansion of our previous product range, changing from a single product segment, into a new uniqe assortment of high quality certified hygienic components.
Our customers can now at NGI source several different certified hygienic components for their machinery and equipment. NGI will continue to add new hygienic components to its growing portfolio.
NGI plans to continue the positive development and to exploit the significant growth potential at an international level. Customers and suppliers can look forward to a continuation of the company’s quality and service level and a further professionalization of its operations.
NGI is the company-specialist when it comes to industrial hygienic components for machines and equipment used in the food, dairy, brewery and pharmaceutical industries. Basically, applications with the strictest requirements for hygiene and cleaning.
Our innovative and patented solutions are specifically designed to comply with the strictest demands for clean and hygienic production environments and are certified according to the 3A hygiene standard 88-00 and the EHEDG hygiene standard TYPE EL-CLASS 1.
Hygienic machine feet like the ZH and XH series are easy to clean, enabling the end-user to reduce the consumption of water and energy in the cleaning process to an absolute minimum - saving both time and money. Our certified hygienic design and patent protected products are the optimal choice for machinery that has to comply with strict hygiene requirements. Designed in accordance with USDA, EHEDG and 3-A design principles, the products secure easy access for cleaning and optimal conditions for food safety.
The environmental and financial aspects are important focus areas for our customers as well as NGI. We have considerably reduced our consumption of raw materials and energy in our production and distribution facilities.
Machine feet, bearing houses and castors are one of the most important supplementary components for machinery and equipment.
We always strive for the highest standard of excellence in our product development, focusing not only on the fundamental requirements such as stability under load, vibration absorption capacity and the ability to fix the foot onto the floor - but also on the importance of sealing moveable parts, adjustability without exposing the threads, absence of unnecessary corners and edges, and the best possible design for facilitating cleaning.
Machines, equipment and individual components have to be suited to the production environments in which they function. A dry production environment requires different machine feet than a wet production environment, which is different from the machine feet used in a clean room environment.
Our research and dialogue with customers/partners all over the world have also identified bearing houses and castors as weak points in many production facilities. They’re difficult to clean. They’re potential cross contaminators. And they break down due to wear and tear. Our new bearing houses are fitted with a patented waterproof sealing that blocks out dirt and bacteria, allow 3 degrees misalignment and can be equipped with a high-performance ceramic bearing. This waterproof construction extends the lifetime of the bearing with up to 10 times compared to bearing houses currently on the market. The new hygienic castors are easy to clean from all angles due to a one-sided fork housing design and smooth and drainable surfaces.
The hygienic bearing houses from NGI are the only bearing houses in the world designed in accordance with USDA, EHEDG and 3-A design principles. The hygienic castors are the only patented castors in the world following USDA, EHEDG and 3-A design principles. Both products are designed for quick and easy installation as a plug n play solution that can simply substitute current unhygienic components
To us, the compatibility principle is just as important as the load capacity and the right choice of material. This is one of the reasons why NGI has grown to be a world-leading supplier of hygienic components in the industries we serve.
