The Challenge

As a major part of the world’s chocolate food chain, Barry Callebaut wants to secure the highest standards of hygiene. After they started using hygienic feet from NGI in their factories in Belgium and the United Kingdom they saw the value of implementing these feet at the specifications stage when they ordered new machines from their machine builders. Therefore, Barry Callebaut wanted to implement NGI components in their technical specifications.

The Solution

NGI helped Barry Callebaut develop and implement their standard for production equipment. NGI has been in close contact with Barry Callebaut during the process and NGI has furthermore helped the machine builders of Barry Callebaut with the implementation. Throughout the solution NGI and Barry Callebaut have focused on all parts of the machine supply chain, ensuring that both Barry Callebaut and the advisers and suppliers all benefit from the new standards.

The Effect

The new standard is implemented at Barry Callebaut and the suppliers have started using the standards. One of these suppliers is DESMI and they have confirmed that both the standards and the NGI hygienic feet are easy to work with.
