Finding the right solution for a constant washdown environment

Valipile was interested in finding a solution for a completely sealed, waterproof, bearing house for a production area under constant washdown.

The Challenge

Valipile installed 23 new conveyors in their production site, all fitted with bearing houses. One of the sections on the conveyor is under constant washdown. It was necessary to find a completely sealed bearing house solution.

The Solution

The Maintenance Manager at Valipile received a catalogue from NGI and reached out for further assistance. Valipile was interested in the selection of certified hygienic bearing houses which are completely sealed and optimizes the hygiene of their production line.

The Effect

Valipile says: “NGI’s new certified hygienic bearing houses were the perfect solution for us and after the test, we could conclude that the bearings are completely dry inside and there is no water inside the bearing house. There is zero maintenance because we don’t need to lubricate the bearings. Furthermore, as the bearings are completely dry and not exposed to water, there is no sign of rust. As a result of this, we will consider exchanging all the bearings on our existing equipment and incorporating hygienic IP69K bearings from NGI into our technical documentation for future projects”.
